## [bit.ly Spark for CodeIgniter](https://www.patrickpopowicz.com/blog/bit-ly-spark-for-codeigniter)

 Mon, 23 Jul 2012 23:49:00 / Patrick Popowicz / [bitly, ](https://www.patrickpopowicz.com/tag:bitly) [codeigniter, ](https://www.patrickpopowicz.com/tag:codeigniter) [php](https://www.patrickpopowicz.com/tag:php)

I’ve converted my [bit.ly](http://bit.ly "bit.ly") library for [CodeIgniter](http://www.codeigniter.com "CodeIgniter") into a Spark for easier use and installation after many long months with an open issue from [Phil Sturgeon](http://philsturgeon.co.uk/ "Phil Sturgeon"). You can find the spark over at <http://getsparks.org/packages/codeigniter-bitly/show>, along with all the information needed to get Sparks in your CodeIgniter installation and how to run the spark. You’ll find the repo over on github at <https://github.com/patrickpopowicz/codeigniter-bitly>.

In the coming week, I’ll be looking over the current version of the bit.ly API to remove any depreciation methods and do an overall update of the library.
